We booked a resort package for two weeks in Varadero. While we were there, we signed on for a few day excursions, but mostly relaxed around the pool or on the beach, or wandered the tourist markets. Cuba was beautiful, the food was good, the prices reasonable, and all the people we met were happy and friendly.

The highlight of our trip was meeting Pavel, a driver and guide who took us for several days of adventure across the island to Trinidad, where he lives with his beautiful family. We hiked and swam, scuba dived in Caribbean reefs, fed crocodiles, rode horses, ate well and drank good rum, and had a wonderful time.
